Standard pattern other ranks German Army (Wehrmacht Heer) Model 43 peaked field cap (M43 Feldmtze) in black wool. White BeVo embroidered shape early war eagle, over national cockade on black material. Cap has a black cotton liner, and dark grey leather sweatband behind the peak. Sweatbands were usually only found on early examples, and tailor made versions, especially for officers. Marked on inside crown with - 57 The sweatband is also impressed with a diamond shaped logo, but the details are indistinct. Appears to be in the form of the Erel logo, however whether it is or not, I cannot determine. Cap is undamaged, and exhibits few signs of wear. Visor is bent in the centre. Originally Size 57 (about size 7). Well manufactured. Insignia was machine stitched to the cap, at the time of manufacture. Insignia is well made. Buttons are painted grey green on the front face only, and do not appear to be marked. Please do not bid on this item if you live in a country that prohibits the import of such items. For example, items bearing a swastika cannot be sent to certain European countries. Please do not ask us to ignore such limitations, where they apply.Subject to a reserve of A$1250.00.

German Army (Wehrmacht Heer) Artillery Other Ranks Private Purchase peaked cap (Schirmmtze) in woven grey green wool. White metal eagle and cockade/wreath, with red felt centre to cockade. High quality manufacture, likely owner was a senior non-commissioned officer, as they had occasion to wear these regularly, and could justify the expense of a tailor made cap, instead of the issue one (NCOs were issued their clothing, unlike officers, who were given a clothing allowance, and bought their own). High saddle form, with top stiffener still in position. Has good shape, and looks very good from the outside. Has bright red Artillery (Artillerie) piping either side of cap band and around top. Top piping is the larger size (which tended to be more expensive). Visor is not crazed. Underside of visor shows a very distinct mark where the owner used to hold the visor by the thumb, presumably when adjusting it, putting it on, or taking it off (this is not too unusual, but is more common with other ranks peaked caps, and officers field use peaked caps - as the owner was less likely to be wearing gloves). Very minor moth damage to top and back overhang. You have to look for this, to see it. Insi
